Lexicon is a family firm which was established by Grażyna and Maciej Woliński in 1990.

We export Polish, academic books and periodicals. Our main aim is direct cooperation with libraries mostly from the United States and the United Kingdom, but also from many different European countries, Israel and Japan. We are highly appreciated by our customers for our unique book selection, competitive prices, prompt and excellent service.

Our first client was Kubon & Sagner, a company from Munich with which we have been cooperating ever since. Soon afterward we started to work with libraries and universities from the United States. The first library with which we established a connection was the Green Library, Stanford University, where we supplied books based on the approval plan.

We specialise in what is broadly understood humanities and social sciences, with particular emphasis on history, language, literature and reference material. We pay very special attention to books on Polish historical and contemporary minorities and ethnic groups. In our catalogues you can find very wide compilations of Judaica, Albaruthenica, Cassubiana, Lithuanica, Masuriana, Silesiana, Ucrainica, etc.

Since 2002, we have also been supplying to libraries bibliographical records on request in Marc21 format. We work this out with the help of the Library of Congress. The customers who take advantage of MARC21 records are the Library of Congress, Harvard College Library and Library of University of Toronto, Yale University Library. Annually we supply almost five thousand bibliographical descriptions.

Among the others we co-operate with the British Library, Cambridge University Library, Columbia University Libraries, the New York Public Library, University of Alberta Libraries, the University of Chicago Library, Yad Vashem.

In Germany orders from our catalogues and offers are processed by Kubon & Sagner company.

Thanks to special rates negotiated with UPS, we deliver books quickly and relatively cheaply in comparison with Polish postal rates.
